Chapada dos Guimarães
An adventure for your eyes.
Day 1
Cuiabá / Chapada dos Guimarães
Our adventure begins with the 75km transfer between the Airport and Chapada dos Guimarães. On the way you can see the beautiful rock walls and formations in sandstone. We arrive in the city and check in at the hotel. If there is time, there may be some walking.
Day 2
National Park’s Waterfalls
After breakfast, we go to the National Park of Chapada dos Guimarães. We start our tour in the Véu de Noiva waterfall gazebo and we went to the circuit of waterfalls (waterfalls of Pulo, Degrau, Prainha, Andorinhas and 7 of September) – there is possibility of tanho in all of them. At the end of the trail, we continue to Casa de Pedra, a small sandstone cave. Finally, we return to the hotel.
Day 3
City of Rocks + Vale do Rio Claro + Crista do Galo
After breakfast, visit to Cidade de Pedra, a unique place, located at the top of the walls of the National Park. Then we leave for the Rio Claro Valley and visit the Galo Crest, an elevated rock formation that has a beautiful panoramic view of the walls. We continue for a refreshing bath in the Well of Anta and Poço Verde. We then return to the hotel in Chapada dos Guimarães.
Day 4
São Jerônimo Mount
After breakfast, we set off to the beginning of our 16km trail. We walk in the middle of the Cerrado of the National Park until arriving at the foot of Morro de São Jerônimo, where begins the ascent to the highest point of Chapada dos Guimarães, with its 800m of height. After reaching the top, we enjoy the incredible 360 degree view of the entire park and return the same way. In this day we recommend to take a snack and plenty of water. The whole course lasts approximately 6 hours. So we return to the hotel in Chapada.
Day 5
Aroe Jari Cave
After breakfast, we travel 46km to the Agua Fria Farm to perform the cave circuit. We start the visit by passing the Stone Bridge, following the Aroe Jari cave, the largest sandstone cave in Brazil. The walk passes through the Equilibrium Stone to the famous Blue Lagoon. Continuing the trail to cave Quiogo Brado and Piob-Jari. We then return to the parking. Lunch is available on site (not included). We finish our tour with a swim in the Alméscar Waterfall. We return to the hotel.
Day 6
Chapada dos Guimarães / Cuiabá
Travel to the airport (Cuiabá) at the combined time.
